We start our journey from Florence heading to Montepulciano, in the south of Tuscany.
Expanses of fine vines and meadows filled with leafy olives follow upon each other in an unending race without either winner or loser with the only purpose of giving you a panorama which will leave you open-mouthed. The luxurious, spacious and comfortable van in which you’ll travel, will help you to appreciate every moment of your tour.
Our first stop is Pienza to discover the local “Pecorino di Pienza” (Sheep cheese) produced here. Situated between Montepulciano and Montalcino, it is considered the “touchstone of Renaissance urbanism”. In 1996, it was included on the list of UNESCO World Heritage. A delightful cheese tasting could take place in one of the farmhouses or shops in the nearby city center.
Afterwards we will be heading to Montepulciano. On the way we will stop to take photo by The Madonna di San Biagio Church, well known for the film “Under the Tuscan Sun”
Montepulciano is famous not only for its timeless beauty but also because it is the area of production of the renowned “Vino Nobile” (Nobile wine), a red DOCG made of 70% (minimum) of Sangiovese grape varietal. Its color is a deep ruby red, its bouquet is intense and its taste is dry, balanced with a slight woody aftertaste.
Here we visit the winery for a tasting of their wines with paired exquisite light lunch with typical and genuine local products (on supplement).
At the end we will move back to Florence where all our services end.
